1. Purpose
This Refund & Cancellation Policy defines the conditions under which cancellations, transfers, and refunds are handled by Spanglish.
Its purpose is to ensure transparency, fairness, and operational stability for both participants and organizers.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all event bookings made through the Spanglish platform, including in-person and online events.
By purchasing a ticket, users agree to this policy.
3. Booking Confirmation
A booking is considered confirmed only after payment has been approved.
Unpaid or unapproved bookings do not guarantee participation.
4. User-Initiated Cancellations
4.1 General Policy
All event ticket purchases are non-refundable.
4.2 Ticket Transfer Option
If a user is unable to attend, they may request to transfer their ticket only to the next scheduled event of the same type, provided that:

The request is made at least 24 hours before the scheduled start of the event

The next event has available capacity
Event type is defined as follows:

Tickets purchased for Spanglish Social can only be transferred to the next scheduled Spanglish Social event

Tickets purchased for Lingo Night can only be transferred to the next scheduled Lingo Night event
Transfer requests must be submitted through official support channels.
4.3 Late Cancellations and No-Shows
Requests made less than 24 hours before the event, or failure to attend without prior notice, will result in the loss of the ticket.
Exceptions may be considered at Spanglish’s discretion in exceptional circumstances.
5. Organizer-Initiated Changes
5.1 Event Cancellation
If Spanglish cancels an event, users may choose:

A full refund, or
-
Transfer to a future event
Users will be notified promptly.
5.2 Event Rescheduling
If an event is rescheduled:
A. Tickets remain valid for the new date
B. Users who are unable to attend the new date may request:

Transfer to a future event, or
-
A full refund
Refunds under this section apply exclusively when the change is initiated by Spanglish and do not apply to user-initiated cancellations.
6. Refund Processing
Refunds are only applicable under the conditions described in Section 5 (Organizer-Initiated Changes).
Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider.
6.1 Card and Online Payments
Refunds are processed to the original payment method whenever possible. Processing times depend on the payment provider.
6.2 Bank Transfers
Refunds via bank transfer require valid bank details from the user. Processing may take up to 5 business days.
6.3 Bitcoin / Lightning
Payments made via Bitcoin or Lightning will be refunded in Bitcoin when technically feasible.
If not feasible, alternative compensation (such as event credit) may be offered.
7. Administrative Fees
Spanglish reserves the right to deduct reasonable administrative or payment processing fees from refunds when applicable.
Any deductions will be clearly communicated.
8. Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds are not provided in the following cases:

User-initiated cancellations

Late cancellations (less than 24 hours before the event)

No-shows

Removal due to misconduct

Violation of event rules

False or misleading information
9. Force Majeure
In cases of force majeure, including natural disasters, government restrictions, or public emergencies, Spanglish may:

Reschedule events

Offer event credit

Provide partial refunds when applicable
Decisions are made in good faith and at Spanglish’s discretion.
10. Refund Request Procedure
Refund requests are only applicable under the conditions described in Section 5.
To request a refund, users must provide:

Requests are reviewed within 5 business days.
11. Dispute Resolution
If a user believes their case was not handled correctly, they may submit a formal appeal including any additional supporting information.
Appeals are reviewed at Spanglish’s discretion and are limited to cases involving exceptional circumstances or potential errors in the original decision.
All decisions made after review are final and not subject to further appeal.
12. Policy Changes
Spanglish may update this policy periodically.
Updates will be published with a revised date.
